Carter Aldridge

Sr. Applications Engineer

Carter Aldridge is a youthful injection to the Nel Pretech team, bringing a can-do attitude, infectious curiosity, and an out-of-the-box thought process. Carter is one of Nel Pretech’s CT specialists and a Sr. Applications Engineer.

Carter graduated in 2023 from University of Illinois at Chicago with a B.S. in Civil Engineering. While attending UIC, Carter and his senior design group won “Best In Show” at the UIC Engineering Expo 2023 for their project, a conversion of an abandoned rail line along the Chicago Ship & Sanitary Canal into a waterfront path meant to be enjoyed by cyclists and pedestrians. Carter has had a love for engineering from a young age, sparked by getting LEGO sets as presents and watching barges go through a lock and dam with his father.

Before coming to Nel Pretech, Carter served for 6 years in the Illinois National Guard as a member of 1-178th Infantry Regiment, C Co. He received an Army Commendation Medal after taking on the responsibility of being the platoon radio operator for a 2 week long training operation after the initial soldier was injured at the start of the training. Carter received his honorable discharge in 2018.

Outside of the office, Carter is a self-described “jack of all trades.” He is an avid sci-fi and superhero fan, enjoys staying in touch with and playing video games with his friends from across the country, and playing board and card games. He also, begrudgingly, enjoys waking up early on the weekends to catch F1 qualifying/races, in addition to spending time out in nature by hiking, rock climbing, and camping. You can also catch him cheering for “Da Bears” or throwing up crowd-surfers at a local Chicago punk rock show.
